The verdict is in – planning permission
The verdict is in….
And after a fairly quick and painless process, we are delighted to say that we have had planning consent (with a few conditions) to do the proposed works on the bungalow!
Initially we had looked a going up in to the loft space, however after much debate…and several floorplans later we decided against it. Instead we will be looking to convert the garage space in to a further two bedrooms to give us the space that were after.
Other work will include a very small, single storey extension to the front to re-create some additional room inside that will be lost to the addition of a new corridor (allowing direct access in to the current garage…soon to be bedrooms). We are also hoping to knock through from the kitchen to the dining room to create an open plan kitchen/diner, and re-roof the lean-to utility room (which is currently full glass…and a searing 40 degree heat in the summer and a positively freezing minus degree temperature in winter). Eventually we also plan to remove the front porch and relocate the front door…and finally render and clad with cedar cladding the exterior of the house (based on the quote we received today…timescales are somewhat TBC!).
Anyway…just a brief update for now…proposed and existing floorplans to follow!
